Kaleidoscopes

As part of the decor at this annual gala at the Rochester Museum and Science Center, we built a balloon kaleidoscope. See the balloons tumble and colors blend as the electrified kaleidoscope does its thing. Kaleidoscope inspired by the work of Marvin Hardy. Shortly after we started experimenting with a design for a kaleidoscope made of balloons, we learned that the Rochester Museum and Science Center chose kaleidoscopes as the theme for their 2019 gala. How perfect! This video captured our installation at the gala with a heavy emphasis on the fully working, and motorized kaleidoscope. We thought it would be fun to share the process of building it.
