Fantastic Flying Octopus

What happens when a balloon sculptor (one of those guys that twists latex balloons into unusual shapes) meets up with a hot-air balloon pilot (someone that prefers to use balloons for flight)? We end up with the first ever twisted latex sculpture able to carry a pilot.

John Ninomiya, a balloon pilot, and Larry Moss, a balloon artist, each with a huge list of credits in their fields, joined together in creating a spectacle never before attempted. John piloted a massive balloon sculpture. The original sculpture design was a 100 foot long dragon to be inflated with helium. John was to be carried in a harness attached to the dragon's claws. As this project evolved, the design changed to reflect the location of the launch. The project ended up involving a 100 foot diameter flying octopus, with John riding atop its body.

While this particular project had never been attempted, we each worked for years building up to bigger and more interesting projects. Look around the site, learn more about the plans, and get ideas of how we can work with you, at your venue.
